نلمح في شعرية ديانا أبو حمزة الشامي سمة التنوع في الخطاب الشعري وهو ما يمنح الفرادة للنص ويحقق التميز لـ «رقصة الفراشات» إذ ليس اعتباطاً أن تجعل الشاعرة من الخطاب اللغوي بإشاراته ومحمولاته نقطة الارتكاز للدخول إلى عالم الأشياء من حولنا؛ وذلك عن طريق التوالد الصوري من الصورة البؤرة (الفراشة) وجعلها علامة النص ودليلنا إلى عالم النور والخير والأمل، ويكون عمل الشاعرة هنا أشبه بالرسم بالكلمات، على طريقة نزار قباني.
في القصيدة المعنونة «رقصة الفراشات» تقول الشاعرة:
"وتسعى الفراشاتُ/ إلى النور البعيدِ/ ترصده بالأملِ/ فتحيا من جديدِ/ تسابقُ الفرحَ/ والبلبلَ إن صدح/ تهمس الطيورِ/ ترمز للزهورِ/ بآياتٍ وصورٍ/ تعكس ضوء القمرِ/ وهالاتٍ تدورُ/ برقصةِ سفرٍ/ من شوقٍ ونورٍ/ بانبهارِ البصرِ/ وعلى شفير النورِ/ واحتراق الأملِ/ تستسلمُ/ الفراشاتُ/ لقضاءٍ وقدرٍ/ هي الحياة تعودُ/ بتكرار العبرِ/ وفراشُ الورودِ/ يحلمُ بالسفرِ".
يضم الديوان اثنتان وستون قصيدة في الشعر العربي الحديث جاءت تحت العناوين الآتية: "يُخيرني"، "بوح الخيزران"، "دموع آدم"، "صدفة"، "طير"، "أخاصمه"، "خائن"، "لا تسلْ"، "عناق"، "رصيف المحطة"، "كذب الورود"، "غزلُ الحرير"، (...) وقصائد أخرى.
