يمثل هذا الكتاب إضافة متواضعة في المكتبة العربية لكتب العلوم المتخصصة، حيث يتناول الكتاب بعض مفردات منهج ميكانيكا الكم لطلبة وطالبات كليات الجامعة مثل العلوم والتربية. وموضوع الكتاب يمثل فرعاً رئيسياً من فروع الفيزياء الحديثة ذات الأهمية القصوى. وقد تم معالجة موضوعات الكتاب بأسلوب واضح مفصل لتعميق المفاهيم الأساسية والسيطرة على بعض المعالجات الصعبة مما يحبب القارىء في الإستمرار في دراسة هذا الموضوع الهام، والكتاب يقع في سبعة ابواب:
الباب الأول: يتناول منشأ مفهوم الكم وتطبيقاته ويستعرض جهود العلماء في الربع الأول من القرن العشرين وظهور مفهوم الخاصة الثنائية للإشعاع.
الباب الثاني: يتناول ظهور الميكانيكا الموجبة مع فرض دى برولى عن موجات المادة والتحقق العملي من ذلك وظهور مفهوم الخاصة الثنائية للمادة وظهور مفهوم المؤثرات الديناميكية واشتقاق معادلة شرودنجر وهي معادلة الحركة لموجات المادة.
الباب الثالث: يمثل تطبيقات عليها لحل بعض المسائل في ميكانيكا الكم مثل جسيم داخل صندوق – سلمة الجهد – هضبة الجهد – المتذبذب التوافقي البسيط.
الباب الرابع: يبدأ بتناول دالة ديراك ثم المؤثر الديناميكي لكمية الحركة الزاوية في الإحداثيات الكرية ثم فضاء هيلبرت الإتجاهي ونبذة عن دوال جرين مع تطبيقات.
الباب الخامس: يمثل المعالجة الكمية لذرة الهيدروجين كمثال لحركة جسيم في مجال قوة مركزية جاذبة وتفسير طيف ذرة الهيدروجين.
الباب السادس: يمثل الكمية لموضوع الإستطارة.
الباب السابع: يشتمل على مجموعة من المسائل والتمارين مع حلها وذلك لزيادة قدرة الطالب على التعامل مع مسائل ميكانيكا الكم.
