ولد في العراق سنة 1957.
يحمل الجنسية الدنماركية ويقيم في لندن.
في سنة 1979 سجن بسبب أفكاره مرات، وصودرت مخطوطة روايته الأولى "القرف" التي عكست دور المؤسسة الدينية المسنودة بالسلطة في تعطيل العقل العربي، وإعادة عجلة التقدم الى الوراء.
ولقد وجدت بعض من أفكار الرواية مكاناً مناسباً لها فيما تلتها من أعمال لم تأخذ نصيبها في التقييم والنشر السليم.
في سنة 1991 أنجز "خلف الطواحين" وهي رواية واقعية تصوّر ظروف العصابات التي تقاتل في الجبال لانتزاع حريتها من الدكتاتورية في ثمانينات القرن الماضي، وتنتهي بانكسار المعارضة أمام بطش السلطة.
أما "المأزق" فانتهى من كتابتها سنة 1993، وقد صدرت عن دار الفارابي في العام 2008.
وهي رواية اجتماعية كشفت وقائع لما يدور خلف كواليس المؤسسات الكبرى التي ترسم الشكل السائد للحياة.
والكاتب وضع في هذه الرواية أفكاراً علمية فريدة ومشوّقة حول الوجود والخلق.
مازجاً فيها الواقع المعاصر بخيال علمي ينطلق بنا، في فصل، نحو المستقبل البعيد لنشهد ما ستؤول إليه حال سلالتنا وفقاً لنظرية النشوء والارتقاء.
وفي فصول أخرى يغوص في الماضي السحيق لينسج فكرته حول ماهية الوجود ثم اختمرت في رأسه رواية "المجانين" ليعيش في أجوائها حتى منتصف سنة 2002
