السؤال الذي يطرح نفسه هنا: هل مكة المكرمة تحتاج إلى وسام قد لا يجد له متسعاً على صدرها المثقل بالأوسمة والنياشين الدينية والدنيوية؟! لعل المنظمة الإسلامية - في هذا المقام - هي من تحتاج إلى وسام من مكة المكرمة تضعه على صدرها يوم الفخار، كونها المدينة (العاصمة) المقدسة العتيقة، وأحب البلاد إلى الله جلّ جلاله.
فحسب مكة أن من رحمها خلق الله تعالى الأرض ومنها دحيت، وكعبتها المشرفة التي تقع في وسط العالم هي سُرَّة الأرض ومركزها، هذا يعني أن مكة هي أم الدنيا بحواضرها ومدنها وقُراها وكل معمور منها، والعاصمة العالمية للأرض، وهي بالتالي أم الثقافات الإنسانية جميعها، هي بحرها ومحيطها، ضحى شمسها وقمر ليلها، نجوم سمائها وأبجدية أرضها، أي الثقافة بكل ما تعنيه من إرث حضاري تراثي معنوي ومادي بدأت خطاها الأولى من مكة المكرمة، وآية ذلك كله ما تشهد به المأثورات التاريخية المتواترة قديمها وجديدها، والتي تتفق بدورها، على ان مكة المكرمة ليست عريقة في القدم فحسب، بل هي من أقدم مدن المعمورة، ما كان معلوماً منها ومجهولاً، وأن البيت الحرام الذي يعد اليوم واحداً من أعظم المساجد وأكبر دور العبادة على وجه الأرض، هو أول بيت وضع لأهل الأرض ليعبدوا الله - عزّ وجلّ - فيه، وليهتدوا بفضله إلى الصراط الحق الصراط المستقيم.
إن هذا الكتاب خليق بالقراءة والإقتناء سواء على مستوى الأفراد أو الجماعات أو المؤسسات الدينية والعلمية والأدبية والثقافية بعامة، والحاج والمعتمر خاصة، كونه أول كتاب يصدر على هذا النحو المختصر المفيد عن تاريخ مكة عبر الحقب التاريخية - من آدم عليه السلام إلى يومنا هذا - بأسلوب منهجي تاريخي علمي أدبي مختصر مانع وشائق، ﴿أَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ ضَرَبَ اللَّهُ مَثَلًا كَلِمَةً طَيِّبَةً كَشَجَرَةٍ طَيِّبَةٍ أَصْلُهَا ثَابِتٌ وَفَرْعُهَا فِي السَّمَاءِ (24) تُؤْتِي أُكُلَهَا كُلَّ حِينٍ بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهَا﴾ (إبراهيم: 24- 25).
