إن دين الاسلام هو دين الرحمة والعدل والمساواة، فلقد جاء الاسلام ليقوّم اعوجاج الناس في العصور الجاهلية إلى الآن طارحاً رداء التعصب والجهل والضياع بعيداً ومتدثراً برداء المحبة والرحمة والمودة، وكما أنه أتى لسعادة الانسان فإنه لم ينس بقية خلق الله من الحيوانات الغير عاقلة وبيان أن لها مكانة فيه. والمتصفح لهذا الكتاب يرى أنه قد خاض في هذا الموضوع بشكل مبسط حيث تحدث عن الرفق بالحيوان وأنه قد يدخل الجنة مورداً لذلك بعض الأحاديث الشرعية ومؤكداً من جهة أخرى أن عدم الرفق بها قد يورد صاحبه المهالك مستعيناً بالأحاديث. وليس خافياً على أحد أن مثل هذه الدراسات هي بمثابة رد على أعداء الاسلام وقولهم بأن الاسلام يهضم حقوق الانسان، فإذا كان الاسلام شديد الاعتناء والرفق بالحيوان فما بالك بالانسان. كما عمد المؤلف إلى تصنيف الأحاديث وما يلحق بها من آثار ودراستها لتقريبها للناس وتحقيق النفع منها، كما أنه يظهر أهمية السنة النبوية في الشريعة الاسلامية. كما يفرد هذا الكتاب دراسة في تسمية الحيوانات وتلقيبها باسم بعضها ويبحث في الأثر النفسي الذي يترتب عليه تشويه الحيوانات أو لعنها.
