لما كانت القلوب تمل كما تمل الأبدان . . كان لا بد من البحث عما يشحذ الذهن واللب ، ويحيي القلب ، ويبعث على المكارم ، وينهى عن الدنايا والمحارم . إنها طرائف الحكم والأمثال ، إنها نتاج الشعوب وخلاصة تجاربها ؛ ولذلك قيل : ( الحكمة ضالة المؤمن ، حيثما وجدها . . التقطها ) . فالحكمة شجرة تثبت في القلب وتثمر في اللسان ، وفيها الخير على مدى الزمان ، والمؤمن لا يشبع من خير حتى يكون منتهاه إلى الجنان . وما سميت الحكمة حكمة إلا لأنها أُحكمت مبانيها بالنقل والعقل ، وما مدح الله لقمان إلا بالحكمة ، فذكر حِكَمَهُ في القرآن ، وجعلها عبرة وتذكرة لكل إنسان . لقد جال المؤلف رحمه الله تعالى في الفكر العالمي ـ والعلم رحم بين أهله ـ فانتقى أجمل الأزهار والرياحين من تلك الحكم والأمثال ، وجعله في هذا السفر المبارك ، وعنون هذه الأزاهير بـ « حدائق ذات بهجة » . فانتقى جملاً من كتابي « قاموس الحكم والأمثال » ، و « من حصاد الفكر العالمي » ، ثم قام بصياغة ذلك بأسلوب أدبي ممتع ، فجاءت الحكم على شكل قطع أدبية ، قصيرة رزينة سهلة التناول . وتتميماً للفائدة ألحق المؤلف رحمه الله تعالى بالكتاب رسالتين هامتين : الأولى : « رسالة في سبيل مقاومة الغزو الأخلاقي » عرج فيها على الحرب الأخلاقية التي شُنت وتُشن إلى قيام الساعة على مجتمعاتنا ، وما الذي يُصَدِّره لنا دعاة الانحطاط من تجاربهم المأساوية ، الجنس والإباحية وثقافة العري ، إنه السلاح الفتاك يغزو شبابنا ، فما هو السبيل ؟ والثانية : « رسالة المؤاخاة بين العقل والروح » رسالة أوضح فيها المؤاخاة بين العقل والروح إلى جانب النقل ، وجعل الثلاثة مصادر للمعرفة والرد على بعض الشبهات .
