يعدّ هذا الكتاب قراءة جديدة لبعض المسلمات والبديهات التي كان يظنّ أكثر المسلمين أنها لا إشكالية عليها، ولكن أعادت صياغة الأسئلة من جديدة ومحاولة الإجابة عنها كشفت لنا الجوانب الإعجازية في النص القرآني والسيرة النبويّة.
فمن الأسئلة تجلت في هذا الكتاب على شكل (لماذا) مثلاً لماذا معلقة امرئ القيس تمثل المرتبة الأولى في المعلقات علما إنّه الشاعر الوحيد تقريباً الذي بشره الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم بأنّه يحمل لواء الشعراء إلى النّار؟، ولماذا الرسول سمي بالصادق الأمين ولم يتصف بالشجاعة والكرم والتي كانت تمثل قيماً عليا في الجاهلية بدلاً من الصدق والأمانة، ولماذا تزوج الرسول قبل البعثة امرأة أكبر منه، وبعد البعثة تزوج أصغر منه، وما هو الرابط بين هجرة الرسول، ووفاة السيدة خديجة رضي الله عنها وعمه، والإسراء والمعراج، ونزول سورة يوسف الصديق على الرسول في عام الحزن، فضلاً عن الفرق بين رسول الثّقافة ورسول الحضارة، والشخصية القريشية والشخصية اليهودية، ولماذا الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم لم يسكن مكة بعد فتحها، بالإضافة إلى الإعجاز القيمي أو الأخلاقي في القرآن الكريم، وإعجاز الصمت أو صيام الكلام في القرآن الكريم.
