عبد المؤمن النقاش واحد من شعراء حركة أبو للو المتأخرين، الذين جاءوا بعد جيلها الأول. ولئن ذاع صيت عدد معروف منهم كممثلين لهذه الحركة الموارة في شعرنا الحديث، فإن انصراف عبد المؤمن النقاش إلى دوره التربوي المزدوج: تربية النشء في مدارس أجا والدقهليه ثم القاهرة، وتربية أبنائه المباشرين ليهديهم إلى الحياة المصرية والععربية كوكبة من "النجوم الزاهرة" قد شغله عن أن يجمع شعره بين دفتي ديوان، شأنه في ذلك شأن عدد من الشعراء الرومانتيكيين الذين ينتمون إلى حركة "أبوللو" لكن صروف الحياة جعلت الأضواء تنحر عنهم حينئذ، لكن التاريخ أنصفهم بعد ذلك (مثل: محمد صالح الشرنوبي وعبد المعطي الهمشري وحسن كامل الصيرفي والعوضي الوكيل الذي أهدى له النقاش بعض قصائد الديوان).
