الطريقة التي اتبعتها في فهرسة كتب الطب والصيدلة، فهي الطريقة الواضحة التي اتبعها أكثر الزملاء الذي سبقوني إلى مثل هذا العمل، وسأسرد فيما يلي الخطة المتبعة في ذلك لتوضيح الطريق أمام الباحثين.
1-ذكر اسم الكتاب أو الرسالة كما وردت التسمية على الغلاف أو في داخل الكتاب وتصويب الإسم إن كان غير صحيح، بعد الرجوع إلى كتب التراجم.
2-ذكر الرقم العام كما ورد في سجل المخطوطات، مع الإشارة إلى موضعه إن كان ضمن مجموع.
3-ذكر اسم المؤلف كاملاً، معتمداً في ذلك على كتب التراجم، مع تحديد سنة وفاته بالتاريخين الهجري والميلادي.
4-سرد نبذة قصيرة من فاحة المخطوط تبين موضوعه.
5-ذكر أقسام الكتاب - أبوابه - فصوله...
6-سرد قسم من خاتمة المخطوط مع ذكر تاريخ النسخ واسم الناسخ إن وجد.
7-اوصاف المخطوط العامة - الورق - الحبر - نوع الخط - قيود التملك - القراءة - المقابلة مع مخطوط آخر - الحالة العامة للكتاب "جيد - مهترئ - يحتاج إلى إصلاح".
8-ذكر عدد أوراق المخطوط، وذكر مسطرته، عدد الأسطر في كل صفحة.
9-ذكر بعض المصادر والمراجع التي تحدثت عن المؤلف والكتاب مكتفياً بأشهرها.
