تعد الأحاديث النبوية، والآثار المحمدية، أصل العلوم بعد القرآن، وهي قاعدة الشريعة الإسلامية ومن أركان الإيمان الصحيح، وخير من اعتنى بهذا الفن شيخ الإسلام شهاب الدين الشهير بابن حجر، ومن أهم المصنفات التي صنفها الحافظ ابن حجر في علوم الحديث كتاب "نزهة النظر في توضيح نخبة الفكر" وكان لأهميته أن تنافس على شرحه الفضلاء، وكان الإمام "برهان الدين اللقاني" المتوفي سنة (1041هـ) من بين أولئك الذين توجهت عنايتهم لشرح "النزهة" في كتاب سماه "قضاء الوطر من نزهة النظر في توضيح نخبة الفكر في مصطلح أهل الأثر" ونظراً لأهمية هذا المخطوط واحتوائه على الكثير من الشروح المتداولة على النزهة وما فيه من الفوائد دأب الأستاذ "أبي حفص اليماني: شادي بم محمد بن سالم آل نعمان" على العناية به ودراسته والتحقيق فيه في مجلدات ثلاثة جملت العنوان نفسه يقول: ".. بعونه تعالى نسخت وقيدت وحسَيت وعلقت، إلى أن تيسَر لي الإتمام" من هذا المنطلق قسم عمله هذا إلى أربعة أقسام: تحتوي على: 1- مقدمة الدراسة، 2- مقدمة التحقيق، 3- النص المحقق، والفهارس. وفي مقدمة الدراسة وضع خمسة أبواب ياتي الباب الأول في التعريف بالأحام اللقاني وسيرته الذاتية والعلمية وعقيدته، ثم الكلام على العقيدة الصوفية، أما الباب الثاني فيأتي للتعريف بكتاب "نزهة النظر" وأصله وفيه شرحاً للمنهج الذي سار عليه الحافظ ابن حجر في كتابه النزهة، أما الباب الثالث فهو تعريف بكتاب "قضاء الوطر" في نزهة النظر وفيه شرح الإمام اللقاني على "النزهة" وذكر ما فاق فيه شرح اللقاني على شرحي القاري والمناوي، أما الباب الرابع ففيه تعريف بحاشية ابن قطلوبغا على "نزهة النظر" التي التزم اللقاني بنقلها في شرحه وذكر لمنهجه فيها، 2- مقدمة التحقيق: وتضم خمسة بواب تحتوي على توثيق نسبه الكتاب إلى مؤلفه وتوثيق لكتاب ومصادره وذكر للنسخ الخطية، ووصف النسخ التي استخدمت في تحقيق الكتاب. 3- نص الكتاب المحقق: يبين فيه الباحث "آل نعمان" منهجه في هذا العمل وأخيراً مصادر الدراسة.
تأتي أهمية شرح اللقاني من كونه عمل على ربط كلام الحافظ ابن حجر في "النزهة" بكلامه في غيرها، وذلك عن طريق النقل من كتبه التي صنفها –أي ابن حجر- وهي "النكت على ابن الصلاح"، "هدي الساري"، "المقدمة الصغرى"، وكذلك كتب تلاميذه، إضافة إلة اهتمامه بسرد أقوال أهل العلم وغيرها وبيان اتفاقهم واختلافهم، وحشد هذا كله في موضعه المناسب من شرحه كما نجد على سبيل المثال في قول الترمذي "حسن صحيح" كذلك اشتغاله على حكم التعديل المبهم، وغيرها من المسائي التي نجدها مفصلة وموضحة في متن الكتاب بأجزائه الثلائة...
