تشكل رواية “WHO IS MAUD DIXON” أو "من هي صاحبة الاسم السري؟" كما جاء العنوان بالطبعة العربية عملاً إبداعياً مشوقاً للكاتبة ألكسندرا أندروز، تسرد فيه قصة العلاقة الشائكة بين كاتبة مشهورة تخفي اسمها الحقيقي ومساعدة طموحة تعمل في دار نشر وتحلم بأن تكون كاتبة.
المساعِدة هي فلورنس دارو التي جاءت من بلدة صغيرة في فلوريدا إلى نيويورك وكلها أمل أن يساعدها الحظ في إبراز موهبتها في الكتابة وتصبح كاتبة مشهورة. قَبِلَتْ أول عرض صادفها، وكان العمل بصفتها مساعدة محرّرة في دار فوريستر قبل أن تتلقى عرضاً مهماً من إحدى كبريات دور النشر؛ للعمل كمساعدة لروائية مشهورة تكتب تحت اسم مستعار هو "مود ديكسون" وتخفي اسمها الحقيقي "هيلين ويلكوكس"، إلا أنها لم تُخفِه عن المساعِدة بشرط كتمان سر الإفصاح عن الاسم، ولكن فلورنس لم تكن تتوقع أي لعبة تلعبها الكاتبة المشهورة بأخذها إلى المغرب حيث تدور أحداث روايتها الجديدة.لم تكن تعرف أنها بعملها مع كاتبة مشهورة ستكون واحدة من شخصيات روايتها الجديدة التي قررت قتلها وأخذ اسمها، فأحداث القصّة تستند إلى الخطّة التي ستجريها هيلين في أثناء كتابتها، وهي قتل فلورنس وسرقة هويّتها. ولكن فطنة المساعدة الطموحة غيرت قواعد اللعبة وبدلاً من أن تصبح ضحية هيلين أصبحت هيلين ضحيتها.أخذت الاسم الأدبي لمود ديكسون ومعها ملايين الدولارات التي حققتها بنجاح روايتها. قررت الإبقاء على النصف الأول من مسوّدة هيلين على حاله كما وجدته، ثم في منتصف الرواية، سيتبدّل الراوي لتصبح الأحداث من وجهة نظر أخرى وبهذا أكملت فلورنس الرواية وأصبحت هي صاحبة الاسم السري؟ قالوا عن الرواية:
