هل وددت أن تمتلك مكتبةً في الفلسفة العربيّة تحتوي على مجمل الفكر الفلسفيّ؟ لكنّك تحتار في اختيار الكُتب المناسبة، ناهيك عن التكلفةِ المادّيّة وضيق المكان! تقول إحدى نصائح الكشّافة: "إحمل ما خفّ وزنه وزاد نفعه"، ونصيحتي لكَ في رحلتك المعرفيّة أن تنتقي هذا الكِتاب، فهو غزير المعلومات ووَزِن المعارف. يقدّم إلينا الكاتب دليلًا وزوّادةً في الوقت عينه في سعينا إلى بلوغ المعرفة، ننطلق به من محطّة التُراث لنصِل إلى معابر النهضة.
تبدأ رحلتنا من أرسطو إلى ابن رشد، يتبعها محطّاتٌ عدّة مع الكندي والفارابي وابن سينا وغيرهم. يُمحّص الكاتب في منهجيّة كلّ فيلسوف ويوضّح مفهوم المُصطلح لديه وما يميّزه من غيره. ويعرض علينا أنماطًا من طرائق التفكير العربيّ والإسلاميّ، فينطلق منها إلى منهجيّات قراءة التُراث وتحديثه مع روّاد الفكر العربيّ المُعاصر. وفي النصف الثاني من الرِحلة، يعرض علينا الكاتب فكر النهضة في مُصطلحه وخصوصيّاته، كما الفكر النقديّ المعاصِر واتّجاهاته بين الزمنيّ والرّوحيّ. ثمّ يقدّم إلينا فكر ثلاثة فلاسفة من روّاد الفلسفة اللبنانيّة (كمال الحاجّ، وفريد جبر، وناصيف نصّار)، وما أضافوه إلى الفكر العربيّ وطوّروا فيه.
يكوّن هذا الكتاب جُعبةً من الدراسات والأبحاث والمقالات، تمّ تأليفها على مدى ثلاثين عامًا ونيّف. يقدّمها إلينا الدكتور والمُدرِّس جيرار جيهامي عبر كتابٍ جامعٍ في أصول الفكر العربيّ وأساليبه اللسانيّة الّتي تدور في معظمها على القول الفلسفيّ العربيّ.
