يجمع هذا العمل عدداً من المقالات المنشورة وغير المنشورة في مجال تحليل الخطاب حجاجياً وتداولياً، حيث يسلط التحليل هنا إجراءاته على مختلف الآليات المعتمدة في تحديد حجاجية الخطاب الشعري منه والنّثري، وقبل هذا يُستهل هذا العمل بمقالة تحاول رصد العلاقات بين البلاغة والحجاج وتحديد نوعها وصنفها عبر مختلف الحقب التّاريخية من بلاغة أرسطو مروراً بالبلاغة العربية، ووصولاً إلى البلاغة الحديثة والبلاغات المعاصرة، بحيث تحاول هذه المقالة ضبط الفرق بين مختلف التّسميات التي اتخذتها البلاغة عبر أزمنة إزدهارها وكذا أفولها وإنك ماشها، وكيف إستفاد الحجاج من كلّ هذا في تبليغ مقاصده بلاغياً، ثمّ يأتي الحديث في المقالة الثانية عن أهم ركيزة من ركائز البلاغة وهي "المقام" ودوره في تحديد وضبط معالم الحجاج في الخطاب، من خلال تصويب النّظر نحو المتلقين ونوازعهم وميولاتهم ونسج الخطاب بحسب طبقاتهم.
في المقالة الثالثة يأتي الحديث عن الروابط اللّغوية ودورها في تأسيس حجاجية الخطاب من خلال عمليّة الربط والتّنضيد للحجج، وكذا الربط بين الحجج والنتائج المنجرّة عليها، وبالتّحديد تكون نواة هذا البحث، أما المقالة الرابعة فإنها تسلط الضوء على الجانب الإقناعي في الشّعر، وتساند الرأي القائل بحجاجية الشّعر، ووظيفته الإقناعية على الرغم من جنوحه إلى التّخييل، وإنبعاثه من إمبراطورية العاطفة، وإنفلاته من صراعة العقل، وذلك من خلال الحديث عن الأبعاد الحجاجية في الشعر عند الشّاعر.
أما المقالة السادسة فإنّها تركز على مدى نجاعة الأساليب البلاغة في تحقيق مقاصد الخطاب الحجاجية، وقد سلطت الضوء على أسلوب التكرار محاولة إستخلاص دلالته الحجاجية، وكذا نجاعته في تقرير الكلام وترسيخه عند المتلقّي، وقد إتخذت النموذج لذلك قصيدة للشاعر الفلسطيني محمود درويش.
