في هذا الكتاب منظومةٌ في فنِّ المثلّثات للعلاَّمة الشيخ: أبي الفلاح عبد الحي بن أحمد بن العماد العكري الحنبلي (1032- 1089هـ)، أبياتها خمس وثمانون بيتاً، بأربع أبيات، أي تربيعاً يتكرر فيه الحرف من آخر كل بيت ثلاث مرَّات، يظهر فيها إختلاف معنى الكلمة بإختلاف الضبط، ثم ينتهي بحرف الراء في الرابعة، وهكذا على هذا المنوال.
وقد امتازت هذه المنظومة بعدّة مزايا، لعلَّ من أبرزها سلاستها، ووضوح خطها، كما انها لم تخرج عن ما وضعه قطرب من مثلثات، فلم يزد عليها المؤلف، بل تناول نفس الكلمات، لكنه أضاف إليها معان جديدة تحتملها الكلمات غير التي وردت في مثلثات قطرب في أحيان كثيرة.
