في هذا الكتاب يسعى الشيخ عبد الهادي محمد الخرسة إلى شرح تأويلات وإشكالات ما جاء في كتابه "الأجوبة المرضية عن أئمة الفقهاء والصوفية" لمؤلفه الإمام الشيخ "عبد الوهاب الشعراني (973هـ)".
يبدأ الكتاب بمقدمة "سيدي عبد الوهاب الشعراني في علوم الصوفية" وتتضمن جملة من العلوم والكلام عمن اختص بطريق الكشف أو التعريف الإلهي..، يلي ذلك عشرة أبواب وخاتمة: يختص (الباب الأول) بذكر سائر أئمة المسلمين الذين كانوا على هدى من ربهم من فقهاء وصوفية، وجميع ما وقع لهم من كرامات كانت من نتائج العمل بالكتاب والسنة. وأما (الباب الثاني) فيذكر فيه "كون الحقيقة والشريعة امرين متلازمين يرجع أحدهما إلى معنى الآخر عند المحققين. وأما (الباب الرابع) فيه توضيح "أن القوم يبلغون إلى درجة الإجتهاد المطلق في الشريعة حتى يصلوا إلى علم الحقيقة، وأما (الباب الخامس) يكشف فيه المؤلف مراد الصوفية وذكر فيه "أن من شأنهم الأخذ بالعزائم دون الرخص والتأويلات البعيدة المآخذ من الكتاب والسنة"، وأما (الباب السادس) فذكر فيه من أنثى على الصوفية وعلومهم من العلماء خصوصاً الشيخ محي الدين بن عربي.. وأما (الباب السابع) فيه بيان ما في إنكار الفقهاء على بعض الصوفية من المصالح وذكر "فيه بعض من أخرج من أوطانه وبلاده من الصوفية بسبب الشطح، أو دقة المواري كسهل بن عبد الله التستري، وأبي يزيد البسطامي، ومحمد بن الفضل البلخي وغيرهم إلى عصرنا...". وأما (الباب الثامن) فذكر فيه "سبب رمز القوم علومهم بعبارات لا يفهمها غيرهم إلا بكشف وتعريف منهم..."، وأما (الباب التاسع) فذكر فيه "تأويل كلمات نسبت للشيخ محي الدين بن عربي، وأقوال وقعت من غيره من آحاد الصوفية لنقصهم، أو حال اصطلامهم –الإصطلام: حال يعبر عن الغناء الباطن- وغيبتهم عن الكون". وأما (الباب العاشر) فذكر فيه "بيان إقامة الغدر للقوم في تكلمهم بالكلمات التي تشكل على غيرهم أو الأفعال التي لا يعرف غالب الناس دليلهم فيها".
وأخيراً الخاتمة وتتضمن "جملة من الأحوال التي تميز بها القوم عن الفقهاء، عرفاً وعكسه مما فيه ذب عن الشريعة ونصرة لها وللحقيقة".
