نظيرة زين الدين كاتبة وسياسية لبنانية مسلمة ولدت سنة 1908 في إسطنبول، زاولت العمل الصحافي، سخرت قلمها للدفاع عن المرأة. تلقب بـ"الست نظيرة" و "المرأة الحديدية" لدفاعها عن حقوق المرأة.
سيرتها الذاتية
تلقت نظيرة تعليمها في مدرسة الناصرة ثم في المدرسة الأمريكية والمدرسة العمانية. تزوجت في سنة 1935 من شفيق الحلبي، ورزقت منه ثلاثة أولاد. والدها سعيد زين الدين من قرية عين قني الشوفية، كان علماً من أعلام القضاء، تقلَّد مناصب قضائية مهمة، ورزق بابنته البكر نظيرة عام 1907.
وفي العام الذي صدر فيه كتابها حصلت على شهادة (البكالوريا الفرنسية الأولى)، ثم تجهّزت للحصول على (البكالوريا الثانية).
لها كتابان هما: *السفور والحجاب* و*الفتاة والشيوخ*.
وفاتها
توفيت في بيروت عام 1976.

Book Description
بين يدينا كتابان في مجلد واحد حيث طبع الكتاب الأول منهما (السفور والحجاب) للآنسة نظيرة زين الدين لأول مرة عام (1346هــ/1928م)، وما إن خرج إلى النور حتى استشعر العديد من الكُتاب في مضمونه وتوقيته أنه حلقة في سلسلة تستهدف بث الشكوك في الأفكار والممارسات الإسلامية، وهو ما كان ماثلاً بوضوح في ذهن أبرز معارضيها وهو الشيخ الغلاييني الذي طُبع كتابه "نظرات في كتاب السفور والحجاب" لأول مرة عام (1347هـ/ 1928م) أي بُعيْد صدور كتاب "السفور والحجاب" بشهرين، والذي شكك في سند الكتاب إليها، مُسنِده إلى أذناب المبشرين!.
ويقع كتاب "السفور والحجاب" في أربعة أقسام رئيسية: الأول "جولات عامة في الحرية والحق والشرع والدين والعقل" وتناولت فيه ركائز مشروعها الفكري، والثاني تناولت فيه "الأدلة العقلية في السفور"، والثالث بحثت فيه الأدلة الدينية التي تخللها أدلة عقلية، والرابع خصصته لبحث وجهات النظر المخالفة للسفور والرد عليها، بينما جاء تقسيم كتاب الغلاييني في صورة: إفتتاحية ومقدمة واثني عشر فصلاً - أطلق عليها اسم النظرات - وخاتمة، وقد سمح له هذا التقسيم بأن يفند في كل (نظرة/ فصل) قضية واحدة من القضايا التي أثارتها الكاتبة.
ويأتي الكتابان في سياق الرأي والرأي الآخر، وسياق مشروعين فكريين كانا وما زالا يتنازعان العالمين العربي والإسلامي.
