مقتل لاسي أبعد ديكلان عن إيكو ريدج، وغياب بروك وجّه أصابع الاتهام نحو شقيقه مالكوم، ولكن هل هو الجاني الجديد حقاً؟ وما علاقة كل ذلك بمقتل المدرّس الذي تزامن مع وصول إليري وعزرا إلى المدينة؟ والسؤال الأهم هو: من ينشر الذعر في المدينة من خلال الكتابات على الجدران، وإرسال الدمى المضرجة بالدماء؟ هل هو الفاعل يريد أن يشتت الانتباه؟ أم أنه شخص آخر يؤدي خدمة للجاني؟ أم أن الأمر صدفة؟ "اثنان يمكنهما كتمان السرّ" رواية تقول لنا أنه من الأفضل أحياناً لبعض الأسرار أن تبقى مدفونة. هي رواية مشوقة حتى الأسطر الأخيرة، لا تكشف فحواها للقارئ قبل أن تجعله يشك بالجميع.
