في هذا الكتيب رسالة نفسية من رسائل العلامة الشيخ "علي بن سلطان محمد القاري"، جمع فيها أربعين حديثاً في النكاح. وذكر من مستهلها ست آيات جليلة تتعلق بالنكاح، ثم أردفها بإيراد أربعين حديثاً في النكاح واكتفى سردها، ولم يشرحها، ولم يبين درجة الأحاديث، وإنما اكتفى بذكر مخرجيها، ويلاحظ المؤلف انتقى غالب هذه الأحاديث "الجامع الصغير" للسيوطي، بدليل اتفاق اللفظ والتخريج في كثير منها، واختارها من السنن القولية. هذا وقد أورد المصنف في رسالته هذه بعض الأحاديث الضعيفة.
ولأهمية هذه الرسالة عنى "علي بن سلطان محمد القاري" بتذيلها بتحقيق لطيف، تجلى بـ: أولاً: نسخ الرسالة وضبط نصها، ثانياً: تتمة النقص الواقع فيها، ثالثاً: تخريج أحاديثها، مبيناً صحتها وحسنها وضعفها، رابعاً: تدوين مقدمة لطيفة لها، عرف فيها بالرسالة على وجه الإجمال، خامساً: وضع فهرس لأحاديثها، مرتب على حروف المعجم.
