الدكتور إبراهيم محمد علي الطيب تاكات، من مواليد مدينة الدار البيضاء بالمغرب أواخر 1958؛ شهادة الإجازة في الأدب العربي 1983 ثم شهادة دبلوم الدراسات العليا 1992 من كلية الآداب والعلوم الإنسانية، جامعة محمد الخامس بالرباط، شهادة دكتوراه الدولة 2002 من كلية الآداب والعلوم الإنسانية، جامعة الحسن الثاني بالدار البيضاء، أستاذ للأدب العربي منذ 1987 بكلية الآداب والعلوم الإنسانية بجامعة القاضي عياض ثم جامعة السلطان مولاي سليمان إلى 2013.
ثم منذ 2013 أستاذ متعاقد بكلية اللغة بجامعة أم القرى، رئيس سابق لقسم اللغة العربية وآدابها، مثل زملائه في مجالس الكلمة والجامعة، وفي المكاتب المحلية والجهوية للنقابة الوطنية للتعليم العالي، مشارك في عدد من الندوات، عضو في عدة جمعيات ثقافية.
