تعلمنا كتابة القصص وضع أنفسنا مكان الأخرين, التسامح معهم وتقبل الاختلاف, تمنحنا سعة أفق ومرونة أكبر فى التفكير، تجعلنا أكثر قدرة على ضبط أعصابنا وعلى تقبل تنوع وجهات النظر، أن نتعاطف مع الأخرين وأن نفهمهم ذلك؛ لأننا حين نقص نكتب عن شخصيات قد لا نتفق معها فى شئ نضطر نتقمصها أثناء الكتابة للإحساس بها وتفهم دوافعها, فنحن نكتب عن المجرم كما البرئ، وعن صاحب الرذيلة كما صاحب الفضيلة، القصص هى البوابة الأكثر عمقا وصدقا على حقيقة الوجود الإنسانى، دائما وقبل كل شئ تعلمنى كتابة القصص أن أكون إنسانا.
