When a religion authority, especially one with the piety, profoundess, and diversity of His Eminence, the Religious Authority Sayyed Muhammad Hussein Fadlullah, talks about the force that a heavently religion possesses, he would be would be actually talking about all the moral and physical elements of this force, including the doctrinal and ideological dimensoions, as well as the human, social, political, economic and other military dimensions. In this context, the force of religion implies the ability of the religious system to run all the aspects of human life in a way far more superior, when compared to other human systems that might compete with it.
Fadlullah’s description of force I religion is based on two pillar: The first is the religion of Islam itself that encompasses, in its general lines, all the elements of force that constitute the general framework that organizes human life. The second is the social element, in the sense that believing in Islam would provide the society with cohesion, integrity and unity that would, in their turn, give the people a sense of identity that is stronger than that any other unifying factor produces.
To sum up, this look presents a new theoretical conception of the logic of force in Islam that, although written in the 1970’s, is quite relevant today, especially that the imperial and arrogant powers have launched their campaign on the Muslim and Arab world on the basis of fighting “terrorism”, which, in their view, is fueled by Islamic fundamentalism.
It is a book that aims at, as the Sayyed says:”correcting the thought for the sake of the pratical movement of change of the present and future, in a process of extensive planning.
If we have achieved some of these goals, then this is what we have hoped for, but if we did not, then this work has at least paved the way for a new studies and ideas that the Muslim thinkers would develop later…”.
