في هذا الكتاب شرحٌ وإعرابٌ لــ "لاميَّة الشَّنفرى"، يشتملان على تطبيق بعضِ قواعد علم متن اللغة، والصَّرف، والنَّحو، إذْ هذه "اللاميَّةُ" وغيرُها مِنْ كلامِ العربِ، نظْماً كان أو نثراً، أصولٌ لهذه العلومِ الثَّلاثة وغيرها مِنْ علوم اللغة العربيَّةِ الَّتي تأتي الإشارة منِّي إلى بعضها أيضاً في شرح هذه "اللاّميَّة".
والهدف من هذا الشَّرح والإعراب الأول: معرفةُ معاني بعضِ المفردات، ولا شكَّ أنَّ المفردة اللُّغويَّة لها صيغٌ مختلفة: منها الأصليَّة، ولكلِّ صيغةٍ غيرِ الأولى والأصليَّة ما يختصُّ به مِنْ معنىً زائدٍ على معنى أصلِ الصِّيغة الأولى.
أما الثَّاني: معرفةُ الإعرابِ الَّذي يَعْقِدُ المفرداتِ بعضَها ببعضٍ على ما يتطلَّبُه الإعرابُ من المعانيِ النَّحويَّة: كالفاعليَّة، والمفعوليَّة، والحاليَّة، والظَّرفيَّة، فَتُصْبِحُ المفرداتُ بعدَ هذا العقدِ كلاماً يؤدِّي معنىً مِن الجميع.
