" منهاج العابدين إلى جنة رب العالمين" كتابٌ ألفه حجة الإسلام الإمام الغزالي، ذلك الإمام العالم العابد، والورع الزاهد، الذي هو مثالٌ للسائر على درب الحقيقة بغية الوصول إلى الحق سبحانه وتعالى. ومثل هذا العالم الناقد الخبير الذي كانت له صولات وجولات في ميادين مجاهدة النفس والصبر على مشاقِّ ومكابدة الهوى.. يحقُّ له أن يؤلف في مثل هذه المواضيع ويبدع؛ فأهل مكة أدرى بشعابها.
وقد أوضح الإمام الغزالي في كتابه هذا الطريق أتمَّ إيضاح، وبيَّنه بأدق تفاصيله، وأوضح معالمه. على الرغم من أنه شديد الوعورة، محفوف بالمهالك، صعب المسالك؛ لأنه ينتهي إلى رضوان الله ونعيمه، وهذا محفوفٌ بالمكاره والمخاطر.
وهذا الكتاب خيرُ دليلٍ لتبيان كيفية سلوك طريق الآخرة، وذلك بالعبادة التي هي ثمرة العلم وبضاعة الأولياء وسبيل السعادة، ومنهاج الجنة للمبتدىء والمنتهي، والخاص والعام، وذلك سرُّ معالجة النَّفس وتهذيبها.
وأما العقبات التي تعترض سبيل السالك.. فقد لخصها الإمام في سبع عقبات هي: عقبة العلم، ثم عقبة التوبة، ثم عقبة العوائق، ثم عقبة العوارض، ثم عقبة البواعث، ثم عقبة القوادح، ثم عقبة الحمد والشكر. وقد شرح كل عقبة، وفصل المقال فيها، ودلَّ على الطريق الصحيح؛ لتخطي العقبات جميعاً.
