مثلث انتخابات المجلس التشريعي الفلسطيني في الضفة الغربية وقطاع غزة سنة 2006 مفصلاً مهماً في تاريخ القضية الفلسطينية، وذلك بسبب الفوز الكبير الذي أحرزته الحركة الإسلامية في هذه الانتخابات. وقد كانت هذه النتيجة صدمة لكافة القوى المحلية والإقليمية والدولية، بما في ذلك القوى الغربية التي تتبنى مُثُل الديموقراطية ومبادئها، والتي لجأت بسبب عدائها للحركة الإسلامية وبسبب دعمها "إسرائيل"، إلى التنكر لمبادئ الديموقراطية، فلم تحترم إرادة الشعب الفلسطيني، وشاركت في حصار ظالم وقاسٍ استهدف إسقاط الحركة الإسلامية وإفشال تجربتها.
توثق هذه الدراسة لمرحلة من أخطر المراحل التي مرت على القضية الفلسطينية في تاريخها المعاصر، وتقدم وصفاً دقيقاً لبعض الأحداث التي حصلت مع نواب قائمة التغيير والإصلاح (المدعومة من حماس) والمنتخبون في دورة سنة 2006 في المجلس التشريعي الفلسطيني؛ وتبرز معاناتهم في سجون الاحتلال الإسرائيلي دون مراعاة حصانتهم البرلمانية. وتبيّن الدراسة ما واجهته الحركة الإسلامية وأنصارها ومؤسساتها في الضفة الغربية في المرحلة نفسها.
ومما يزيد من أهمية هذا الكتاب أن مؤلفه هو عضو منتخب في المجلس التشريعي الفلسطيني عن محافظة سلفيت، وكان من أبرز النواب الذين اعتقلوا من قبل "إسرائيل".
