فى 8 مارس من عام 1848 أعطى ملك بروسيا المرأة الحق فى الإنتخابات، وقد اختيرت لهذا اليوم ثلاثة ألوان الأخضر والأبيض والبنفسجى، ثم قامت نساء بريطانيا بالمطالبة بحقهن فى الإنتخابات عام 1908، وهن اللائى رفعن الألوان الثلاثة التى كانت ترمز إلى معانٍ ودلالات عدة، فقد كان الأبيض تعبيراً عن النقاء، والأخضر عن الأمل، والبنفسجى عن الكرامة والإحترام، وحتى هذه اللحظة يحاول دعاة الظلام سحب المرأة إلى بحر الظلمات، فى حين أن بحر النساء الهائج كان يتطلع إلى ضفة النور والحياة، ولا تزال أحجار الماضى الثقيلة السوداء تسد بوابات الكهوف لتمنع النور من الدخول، وتحت حجج الفضيلة والأخلاق تساق النساء إلى مقصلة التمييز، وفصل الحقوق وتكميم الأفواه، فتحاول قوى الظلام وأعداء التقدم مرة تلو المرة - حتى بعد أكثر من قرن ونصف قرن- إرجاع حركة التاريخ إلى الوراء، وقد قبلت بعض النساء بالجلوس فى الصفوف الخلفية، ونعنى بذلك الدلالة الحقيقية للدونية، حيث مارست حضارة الرجل ورجل الحضارة سلوكاً وانتهاكاً إزاء المرأة تحت اسم الاختلافات البيولوجية والإجتماعية والأخلاقية، فصاغ قوانين الإستبداد مرتين، مرة ضد المجتمع بشكل عام، ومرة ضد المرأة بشكل خاص، فورثت الإستبدادين داخل البيت وخارجه من الرجل الذكر والمجتمع والسلطة.
