لو تنسى لأحكم زيارة أي صف من صفوف الروضة في أكثر من مدرسة، غالباً ما يجد في زوايا الصف مسرحاً خشبياً صغيراً بفتحة وستارة صغيرة. ولو سألت الحادقة: كم مرة تستعملين هذا المسرح كأداة مساعدة في عملك؟ ربما تجيبك: مرة كل شهر أو كل شهرين، وقد تجلس مع المسؤولة عن قسم الروضة وبعض الحادقات وتتحدث معهن عن أهمية استعمال مسرح الدمى كأداة مساعدة في إيصال المفاهيم التربوية الأساسية. وستجد أنهم يجمعون على أن الطفل يحب الدمى وينجذب إليها كثيراً.
لكن رغم ذلك تشعر أن فكرة الاستعمال التربوي للمسرح، ما زالت ضبابية في ذهن معظم الحادقات فمسرح الدمى بالنسبة لهن ما هو إلا المسرح الذي يرتبط بفرقة محترفة وتقدم المسرحيات في المناسبات الوطنية والدينية وما شابه، من هنا... كان التفكير بوضع هذا الكتاب (الدليل) الذي ربما يكون عوناً للحادقات اللواتي تتوافر لديهن الخبرة الكافية، كما قد يكون مساعداً لأولئك اللواتي يعانين صعوبة تتبع التوجيهات النظرية، ويتطلبن معرفة الأسلوب العملي لتطبيق تلك التوجهات العامة في العمل أثناء الدرس. وبالرجوع لمضمون هذا الكتاب نجد أنه يحتوي على ثلاثين نموذجاً من النصوص المسرحية والاقتراحات لحالات مسرحية وحوارات، يعيش الطفل أجواءها مستمتعاً بها، ومشاركاً ومتعلماً في الوقت نفسه، كما ويحتوي على أربع نصوص مسرحية صغيرة جاءت كنماذج يمكن للحادقة أن تقدمها بمناسبة عيد الأم والطفل، الفصول الأربعة، عيد الفطر، عيد الأضحى.
