من الملاحظ أن المجني عليه لا يقع فريسة للمتهم فحسب بل يقع أيضًا فريسة لنظام العدالة الجنائية من تأخير وطول انتظار وسوء المعاملة والإحراج في التحقيق وحرمانه من مباشرة بعض الإجراءات القانونية في مواجهة المتهم مما يؤدي إلى ضياع الوقت والمال وشعوره بالإحباط وبالتالي فهذا الكتاب يبحث في الضمانات المقررة للمجني عليه أمنة على نفسه وعلى حياته وملكه وكرامته وحريته والبحث عن كافة الإجراءات التي تصون له حقوقه من الإعتداء حتى إذا حصل بها انتقاص أو تلف أو اهدار حتى يتمكن المجني عليه من ملاحقة المعتدي وإنزال العقوبة به وتعويضه عن حقه تعويضًا عادلًا إن لم يكن بالإمكان استعادة ذلك الحق غير منقوص أو مشوه، ويعد المؤلف مبادرة عملية نحو تحقيق حماية أكثر وأشمل للمجني عليه للقضاء على المشاكل والمآسي الاجتماعية التي لا حصر لها التي تلحق بالمجني عليه، وسوف نتناول كافة الحقوق المقررة للمجني عليه بالشرح والتفصيل فنقسم الكتاب إلى التالي: الفصل التمهيدي: تحديد المجني عليه في الجريمة، الفصل الأول: الادعاء المدني في مرحلة المحاكمة، الفصل الثاني: حق المجني عليه في الاختيار بين الطريقين المدني والجنائي، الفصل الثالث: وسائل أخرى لضمان حق المجني عليه في حالة سقوط الدعوى الجنائية، الفصل الخامس: حقوق المجني عليه في حالة تبرئة المتهم، الفصل السادس: الضمانات الإضافية الممنوحة للمجني عليه أمام القضاء الجنائي.
