إن الدرس الذي تقدمه الفلسفة الغربية، وبالتحديد الفلسفة الألمانية- حديثة أو معاصرة- هو درس نقدي بامتياز، فليس النقد سمة مرتبطة بالفلسفة الكانطية فحسب، التي جرت المقررات الجامعية والبحثية على اعتبراها نقدية بالأساس، فصحيح أن كانط قد دشن عصراً نقديا تنويرياً شعاره استعمال العقل بشجاعة، غير أن سمة النقد كمساءلة للموضوع الفلسفي ومحتواه قد ظلّ يلازم الفكر الألماني عبر تضاعيفه التاريخانية، ليس هناك ما فوق النقد أو الـ" ميتا- نقد" كل ما هناك تراكمات جرى تقديسها بفعل العمل التاريخي، سيكون العقل الفلسفي في ألمانيا متحرراً من براثن الأسبقيات والبديهيات، إنه بناء لكشف جديد وتضحية ابتمولوجية بمعطيات سابقة، إنه مساءلة واستنطاق وكشف ونقد، وهو آلية ستدفع بالفكر الألماني- مقارنة بغيرها- إلى إحراز تقدم ملحوظ على مستوى الحقول المعرفية أو على الأقل في التأصيل لأفكار وقضايا لم يسبق التطرق إليها.
