... هذا الموكب المتهوّر، تتبعه الجمال التي تبدأ بالدبيب عند أول نفحة من نسائم البحر، كان الجنازة الحقيقية لآرثر رامبو، جنازة بمقياسه الخاص في الصحراء الجرداء القاحلة، مثل تلك "النعوش السائرة تحت المظلات السود المزيّنة برياش الأبنوس، تجرّها فرس نمراء" (إشراقات).
الركضة الحرّة الاخيرة على الأرض، هروب من الموت، وهرولة إليه، موكب إلى النور، صورة جديدة للرحيل الأسرع، إلى الراحة المبتغاة البعيدة، إلى الشرق، إلى عدن، التي أراد أن يدفن فيها، إلى "البحر المخلوط بالشمس" إلى الخلود (ف. ج)، جنازة تستطيل في الترحال، والحريّة، في الصحراء التي سيغادرها بعد حين، في المدى الواسع من غير نهاية، حيث رأى نفسه "يعيش طويلاً، ربما إلى الأبد" (عدن، 5/5/ 1884)، عسى أن تنهض هذه النقّالة الكسيحة، فُلْك الميثاقِ، في نقطة التوهج الساطع، المِحَفّة الملكية المتداعية، وصاحبها، الرجل الميِّت يصرخ، ويووَلول، فيأخذ أسراره معه، كي لا نحلم بها، عسى أن تحمل هذه القافلة رامبو، وهو لا يعي إلى "العاطفة، والمستقبل" (إشراقات)، رامبو!... رامبو، واحد ليس غير، لكنه عظيم مرّتين، مرّة في الشعر، ومرّة في الصمت.
