ولعل توصيف المجتمعات العربية بالتماسك سيثير بعض السخرية أو كلها لدى فريق من الناس، سواء ممن ينطقون لغة الضاد أو ممن ينطقون لغات أخرى. وهذا من حقهم، بل من حقهم توصيف هذه التشكيلات البشرية المقيمة في الشارع العربي أو المهاجرة الى جغرافيات أخرى.. بأنها خارج دائرة الحضارة ومنفية عن حركة التاريخ وغير قادرة على مواكبة العصر، وذلك بحكم بينات كثيرة منها، إنها ترفع شعار التحرر ويطيب لها المقام في ظلمات العبودية، تنادي بحقوق الإنسان في الوقت الذي تلغي فيه إنسانية الإنسان، ترفع لواء التوجه النهوضي وتستمرئ السكن في دهاليز التخلف، تطالب بالحريات وفي نفس الوقت تشيع جنازة الحريات كلها بفاعلية السلطات السياسية والثقافية والدينية.. فالكل أحرار بحكم القانون، لكن الكل عبيد بحكم الواقع.. ومع هذا فنحن متماسكون بحكم منطق التاريخ وحده.
