لقد عانى الخطاب الإسلامي المعاصر إلى مدى بعيد في مناقشة نصرة الإسلام للمرأة أما اختزالاً لهذه النظرة إلى مجرد الحديث عن ماذا تلبس المرأة وكيف تحيض، أو انشغالاً بالدفاع عنها في الإسلام نظرياً عن الاشتغال بما يعيد بناء شخصيتها وتنشئتها، أو إدماجاً في شخصية الرجل وما تطلبه الشخصية المسلمة عموماً، بمعنى أن الاهتمام التربوي، عن قصد أو عن غير قصد جاء مخاطباً الرجل بصفة عامة، وبما نتج عنه نقص في الشخصية النسائية عموماً بسبب الحرمان، وربما كان ذلك القصور ناتجاً إلى تراجع الخطاب الإسلامي عموماً إلى خط الدفاع أمام التيارات الوافدة التي استهدفت المرأة بدرجة أساسية، ويأتي هذا الكتاب لسد هذه الثغرة وكمساهمة من المؤلف في إحداث نقلة نوعية في الفكر التربوي الخاص بالنساء، ومن خلال استقصاء الخطاب النبوي الخاص بهن، وما يحتوي هذا الخطاب من شمولية في النظرة ومراعاة لذلك الضعف الذي فطرن عليه.
