عبر حوار داخلي متخيل، وبلغة تمزج بين السرد والنثر تكتب "رحاب ضاهر" وجع الأنثى في محاولة للخروج بفكرة شاملة وواقعية عن المرأة العربية التي تعيش حالٍ من الفقدان العاطفي، فأجادت الروائية بالتمرد على الواقع عبر قصص قصيرة عاطفية المحتوى وملونة بتفاصيل قسوة الحياة وألمها... تقول الروائية عن عملها هذا "... غالبية القصص تتميز باللون العاطفي الممزوج بتفاصيل الحياة الموجعة، وأردت أن أقول عبر هذه القصص أن لا وقت للحب في عصرنا، وان المكان ضيق لا يتسع له، بل أن هذا العصر لم يعد يتسع إلا للحروب والصراعات. "أسود فاجر" أردته أن يكون لفتة عاطفية أو لنقل همسة حب في زمن بلا حب".
ومن أروقة الكتاب نقرأ لرحاب ضاهر: "كم أنا وحيدة بين كلماتي... وكلماتك... فالكلمات دائماً تخونني تتواطأ علي وتضللني الحروف وتغويني جملك. أتمم ما أردت كتابته، وأحضر كل المعاني، وعلم النحو والصرف والشعر الذي أحبه والروايات التي شكلتني أنثى من نار وهواء وعاطفة متدفقة لأرميها للبحر.. للريح.. للشتاء... فمن يلتقط الكلمات وينقذها؟! من يمد لي حرفاً، فاصلة تنقذ غرفتي؟!(...)".
عناوين الكتاب: "أسود فاجر"، "الساعة السادسة"، "حوار فضائي مع الشاعر سلطان الحداثة"، "أمي"، "انفجار"، "بيضاء"، "خطان متوازيان"، "راتب مغر"، "رغبة واحدة لثلاثة وجوه"، "زهرة الشمس" (...)الخ.
عاود السود مرة أخرى اندفاعه نحوك ظناً منه أنك لم تلحظ فجوره لكن جمود رغباتك نحوه وعدم تقديره حق قدرة جعله يشهق بذهول ويتوب عن فجوره. وجسدي الذي أضاء كل قناديله ليلة قدومك سكب الزيت على نفسه وأحرق كل زينته ومنذ تلك تخلى عن فتنته وليس "سواد الحداد" وأيقن أن هناك "أسود فاجر" قد سبقه إليك.
