في دار السعادة، يكتفي المرء بتسجيل لقطات معينة تختصر الأفراح، كما لو ان الدفاتر وإفاضة الشرح خاصة بالعذاب في المعتقلات. دفاتر الحرية مضيئة مبدئياً كونها لا يحدها ميقات أو إكراه، ولا يطالها نعاس، نحجم عن ذكر المتأتي عنوة في بحر الحياة، ونرحّل المغيظ فيها الى بعد حين. والثورة كالحسناء ترغب البقاء صبية مدى الدهر، فتختار من شبابها صورة معلقة في الزمان، براء من كل تجاعيد. ولكن المبنى الأساس يفترض استجابة الناظر المفتون، عبر مرآة المعطى الدائم عربوناً للجمال، ولا يفقه في أمر المتغيِّر إلاّ ما ندر، حتى يوافيه الغائب عنه متأخراً وتكسر المرآة.
