الكتاب هو محاولة علمية لتضع "التنجيم" في موقعه الصحيح، إذ لا يزال التنجيم ظاهرة مفتوحة للتنظير والتأويل، ولا يزال هذا الموضوع غامضاً للكثيرين، حتى الأوساط المثقفة.
يطرح الكاتب أسئلة جديدة وموضوعية: هل تم إنشاء التنجيم أم اكتشافه؟ هل كل ما يتوقعه المنجمون في كتبهم حقائق علمية؟
تقدم الدراسة على هذه التساؤلات وغيرها أجوبة مرضية لمن ينصاع لأمر العقل والعلم، حيث يعرض الكتاب الاكتشافات الفلكية الحديثة التي تتعارض مع التنجيم والمنجمين. يكفي أن نشير أن الأبراج السماوية لم يعد عددها اثني عشر برجاً، حيث أضاف علم الفلك الحديث برجاً جديداً هو برج الأفعى أو الحواء، وعليه فإن برج كل شخص منا قد تغير وانتقل إلى برج آخر بسبب تغير ترتيب البروج!
وتعتمد الدراسة أيضاً على عينة قوامها 1000 شخص من المجتمع اللبناني للتعرف على موقع التنجيم من البنية المعرفية لهذا المجتمع، لتتوصل إلى أن 12.8% من اللبنانيين يرتبطون ارتباطاً وثيقاً بالتنجيم وينفقون سنوياً أكثر من اثنين وعشرين مليون دولار أميركي للكشف عن طالعهم.
وقد أجرى الكاتب مقابلات عديدة مع أشهر المنجمين في لبنان ليخلص بأنهم غير علميين ولا يمت عملهم للواقع العلمي بصلة.
هذا الكتاب هو من الدراسات القليلة التي تناولت هذا الموضوع بحرفية علمية، وهو محاولة جريئة ستقود الكاتب ربما للكثير من الانتقادات ولكن يبقى سلاح الباحث وحقائقه العلمية أقوى من هؤلاء المنجمين الذين ظهرت إدانتهم بالدليل العلمي..
