"نزار قباني" "عبد الوهاب البياتي" و"هاني الراهب" ثلاثة أدباء رحلوا واحداً بعد آخر في سنة إثر أخرى، كانوا كغيرهم من بغض الكتاب والشعراء العرب عوالم قائمة بذاتها، منفصلة كالأنهار العظيمة متحدة كالبحار المتشابكة الهائجة النابضة بالسحر والفكر والجمال المشع في أرض البوار العربية وفي شتات الوطن العربي. كانوا يتلاقون فيحدث اتحادهم هديراً مدوياً نتحد فيه أنها العالم وتنفصل لكي تتحد من جديد وما بين انفصالها واتحادها كانت تخطّ تاريخاً ناصعاً وتنشد أغنية وتؤلف أشعاراً لوطن عربي واحد. واحد في قوميته وفي حلمه.
وفي هذا الكتاب يتحد هؤلاء العمالقة من جديد من خلال رسائلهم الشخصية التي كانوا يوجهونها إلى بسام فرنجية ويتحدثون فيها عن هدف واحد هو تكليف "بسام فرنجية" بترجمة إبداعاتهم إلى الإنكليزية، وتوجيه النصح له فيما ترجمه. وسيسشعر القارئ بعد مطالعته لمتن هذه الرسائل ما كان فحباً فيها في آراء كاتبيها وفلسفتهم ومفاهيمهم في شؤون الحياة المتعددة والمتشابكة بعضها ببعض، كما سيلمس شهاداتهم على عصرهم وتعاملهم مع هذا العصر وهو عصر خطير كانوا له بمثابة المصابيح المنيرة والمرايات العاكسة الصادقة وكانوا مثل نار أكولة، مارقة ومحترقة، مؤثرين فيه ومتفاعلين به... لقد عاشوا فيه وماتوا فيه، ولم يبق منهم سوى أعمالهم الإبداعية العظيمة الكثيرة ورسائلهم القليلة التي كتبوها في حياتهم ومنها هذه المجموعة.
