تقوم قاعدة الانطلاق والتقدم، في هذا العصر-في رأيي وكما أحاول أن أبين في هذا الكتاب-على مناهج ثلاثة، هي: المنهج العقلاني القائم على التفكير (الناقد والإبداعي)، وتفكير العلم (جعله يفكر)، أي على احترام العقل والاحتكام إليه، والمنهج الديمقراطي العلماني، ولكن في إطار روحي أو إنساني (لا روحاني)، وإلا كانت الأمة، دون هذه المناهج، ماضية بعكس اتجاه السير في هذا العصر. وبعبارة أخرى، فإنّ المنهج العقلاني×المنهج الديمقراطي العلماني×المنهج المعرفي= البقاء الأفضل، أو التقدم والازدهار بمعنى ارتفاع مستوى المعيشة وارتفاع مستوى الثقافة. فهل نفسح المجال لهذه المناهج لتعمل في الأسرة والمدرسة والمجتمع؟! إن ذلك غير ممكن ما دامت البنية البطركية مسيطرة علينا، ونبرة الإرهاب الفكري والجسمي، الذي تمارسه بعض جماعات-أو قوى-الموجة الأولى مرتفعة، والتمييز بين المواطنين سياسة يومية، وإلا لماذا تتعاظم فرص البقاء أو التقدم والازدهار في بلدان الشمال، بل في بلدان كانت حتى الأمس القريب، شديدة التخلف، وتتراجع في هذه المنطقة من العالم، على الرغم مما تتمتع به من ثروات طبيعية، وإمكانات بشرية، وموقع استراتيجي؟! ما السر في ذلك؟!
