هو قاص وروائي فلسطيني من مواليد عام 1942 في قرية ذكرين قضاء الخليل, فلسطين.
انخرط في صفوف المقاومة الفلسطينية واستلم عدة مناصب في مؤسسات منظمة التحرير الفلسطينية.
عمل نائباً لرئيس تحرير مجلة الكاتب الفلسطيني الصادرة عن اتحاد الكتاب العرب والصحفيين الفلسطينيين في بيروت.
عضو في جمعية القصة والرواية.
من مؤلفاته: ذكرى الأيام الماضية - قصص - بيروت 1970.
أيام الحرب والموت- رواية - بيروت 1973.
بيت أخضر ذو سقف قرميدي- قصص- بغداد 1974.
البكاء على صدر الحبيب- رواية - بيروت 1974.
مهر البراري - قصص - بيروت 1974.
الأشجار لا تنمو على الدفاتر- قصص - بيروت 1975.

في العام 66 نشرت أول قصة في صحيفة (الجهاد) المقدسية. بعد مأساة 5 حزيران، بدأت بنشر قصصي على صفحات مجلة (الآداب) صدرت لي ثماني مجموعات قصصية، في أربعة عقود ونيف، وها هي ذي المجموعة التاسعة (سفر العاشق).
القصة القصيرة فن تلتقي فيه الحكاية بالشعر، وهي رغم مساحتها المحدودة قادرة على التوغل في النفس البشرية، والتقاط اللحظات المفصلية في حياة البشر.
رغم كتابتي لعدد من الأعمال الروائية، وانشغالي بالكتابة الصحفية فإن القصة القصيرة تجذبني دائماً، قراءة وكتابة. قصص (سفر العاشق) عاشت معي في رحلاتي وتنقلاتي بين (أثينا) و(كريت) و(فينا) و(دمشق) و(عمان)...
في هذه القصص حب، وشجن، وحزن، وفراق و... قهر حيث يتجلى فن القصة القصيرة، وقدرتها على قول الكثير في مساحة محدودة.
ليست القصة القصيرة فن السهولة، ولكنها فن (النفس) و(الروح) الفن الذي يسبر أعماق الإنسان، وتحولاته، وأشواقه...
