هذا الكتاب الذي يشمل بين دفتيه مجموعة من قواعد الوقاية ومكافحة الحرائق بأنواعها المختلفة يعد ضرورياً للأفراد والهيئات لكي يكونوا على علم بما فيه من معلومات وذلك لحماية المجتمع بما فيه من ثروات بشرية وموارد وتاريخية من خطر الحريق (شخصي ضد الأفراد- مادي ضد الثروات- تعرضي ضد المجاورات) وليس هناك أدنى شك في أن خطر الحريق يزيد استفحالاً مع عدم علم (جهل) أو عدم إدراك المواطنين بصفة عامة لمبادئ الوقاية أولاً والمكافحة ثانياً، ولقد تناولت كيمياء النار- التفسير الكيماوي للحريق أو الإشتعال in fammation or firing or comoustion لتبيان أساس هذه العلاقة ولمعرفة طريقة الإطفاء المثلى ومن الواضح أن هذه العلاقة هي علاقة تأكسدية oxidation relation كما تناولت نظرية الإشتعال وكذا نظرية الإطفاء، ومن الضروري أن يقارن القارئ بينهما تماماً كالصفة وعكسها.
