من الملاحظ في حياة بعض الملتزمين بأحكام الدين أنهم عندما يبدأون الإلتزام الديني فإنهم يكونوا على درجة عالية من الحماس الروحي والتقيد بالأمور الشرعية، فتراهم يواظبون على حضور المساجد، وصلاة الجماعة، واستماع المحاضرات، وارتياد مجالس العلماء، وقد تجد البعض يحمل هم الدعوة إلى الله تعالى إلى درجة أنه يريد أن يغير العالم نحو الإيمان والإلتزام.
ولكن، وبعد فترة من الزمن نجد أن هذا الحماس تحول إلى فتور، فتصير صلاتهم أمرا شاقا، ويقل حضورهم المسجد والقيام بالمستحبات الشرعية، وقد يصل بهم الأمر إلى إلفة المحرمات وترك الأمر بالمعروف، والنهي عن المنكر.
