في كتابه هذا، يشير الشيخ رضا عياش العاملي إلى أهمية الدعاء والتوسل ببركة محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم وأهل بيته عليهم السلام في قضاء الحاجات والشفاء من الأمراض، فيضع لنا (500 معجزة شفاء) كشواهد حيّة حصلت ببركة هؤلاء، استلها من القرآن الكريم والحديث عن رسول الله، والأئمة الكرام ويؤكد على ذلك بقوله تعالى "وإذا سألك عبادي عني فإني أجيب دعوة الداع إذا دعاني فليستجيبوا لي وليؤمنوا بي لعلهم يرشدون". كذلك يولي المؤلف أهمية لتأثير الأولياء عليهم السلام بعد الموت، وفي هذا يقول: "لقد ثبت في بحث الولاية التكوينية أن للأئمة تأثيراً على الموجودات سواء أكانوا أحياءً أم أمواتاً (...) لانفصال أرواحهم عن أجسادهم – التي لها نوع من المحدودية الدنيوية – واتصالها بالعالم الأعلى". ومما يحكى في هذا المجال أن تلاميذ "أرسطاطاليس" كانوا يحضرون إلى قبره إذا أشكلت عليهم مسألة علمية ويجدون الحل السريع. وهكذا يقول المؤلف "عرفت الإنسانية بتقديس عظائمها، سواء في ذلك الأنبياء أم غيرهم، لا تتخلف عنها أمة حتى الأمم المتحضرة المعاصرة، وقد أنكر ذلك بعض الناس، رداً بذلك على كتاب الله الحكيم، وعناداً منهم للمسلمين، الذين يبتغون إلى الله الوسيلة في نجاح حوائجهم الدنيوية ةالأخروية، كما هو مندوب الله شرعاً وعقلاً وعرفاً قال تعالى: "يا ايها الذين آمنوا اتقوا الله وابتغوا إليه الوسيلة".
وعلى هذا يجمع الكتاب معجزات وكرامات وروايات عن شفاء أناس من أمراض مستعصية، وإجابات لدعوات، وتوسلات نال بها أصحابها غايتهم.
