يقدم هذا الكتاب مشروع نظرية معرفية عربية, فالكتاب معني بالدراسة الإنسانية المعرفية والعلمية والفكرية, وهو ما عرف في العلوم الحديثة بنظرية المعرفة, ومع ذلك نجد في الكتاب جوانب من العلوم الاجتماعية وعلم النفس, ودراسة لنظرية كلامية لغوية. إن الهدف الذي يرجوه الكتاب تقديم نظرية معرفية علمية عربية, فكم من النظريات المعرفية التي قدمت قديماً وحديثاً في الشرق والغرب, ولكن وضع اليد على نظرية معرفية عربية الهوية, أو عربية التقديم والتأليف ليس ميسوراً, وليس هذا الهدف وحيداً, وإن كان بحد ذاته هدفاً نبيلاً يسعى إليه, ولكن الهدف الأسمى أن يكون الجهد من الإنسان تجاه نفسه وبني جنسه وليس بني قومه فقط, بما يعود عليهم بالنفع والخير والكرامة. إن الهدف الأسمى أن يتواصل التجديد في فهم الانسان, وأن يكون التجديد في الانسان ذاته, قبل أن يكون في إيمانه وعقيدته وثقافته وسلوكه وعلمه وعمله وسياسته, فالنظرية المعرفية العلمية هي قلب الانسان النابض بالحياة والعطاء والإبداع والسعادة.
