بكثير من علم النفس والعلوم الرياضية والطبيعية والاجتماعية تحت مظلة فلسفية تكونت فصول هذا الكتاب الذي وضعه "بول موى" في المنطق وفلسفة العلوم، وترجمة الأستاذ "فؤاد زكريا" ليكون إضافة حقيقية للمكتبة العربية، حيث تناقش فيه الكثير من القضايا العلمية والفلسفية التي كثيرًا ما يتغير طابعها من فصل إلى فصل، فنجد البداية كانت مع المنطق وعلم النفس، والثاني المنطق ثم الفصل الثالث عن الروح العلمية والرابع في تصنيف العلوم.
أما الخامس فموضوعه هو موضوع العلوم الرياضية الترتيب والقياس- العدد والمقدار، ليستكمل الفصل السادس نفس الخط فيكون موضوعه هو منهج العلوم الرياضية. أما الفصل السابع ففي العلوم الطبيعية يليه الثامن والتاسع في علوم الحياة والعلوم الإنسانية على التوالي. أما الفصل العاشر والحادي عشر فاختصا بالنظريات الحالية في الفيزياء الرياضية والنظريات الحالية في العلوم الفيزيائية. ليكون الفصل الثاني عشر مختصًا بالعمليات العامة للتفكير (الاستنباط والاستقراء).. وتتمة الفصل الثالث عشر في العمليات العامة للفكر "تكملة" التحليل والتركيب- الحدس، لينتهي الكتاب بالخاتمة.
