يولد الطفل ضعيفاً تحدوه رهبة ورغبة فترعاه خطة الخالق سبحانه وتعالى، فيجد ما يسد جوعه لبناً زلالاً نقياً لا دخل فيه لصنعة بشر أو تدبير مخلوق.. وبين جوانبه تمضي عوامل وفايته في جهاز مناعة استمد عناصر قواه من جسد الأم، فإذا هو بينه وبين عدوى الأمراض بعد كبير.
وينمو الطفل يوماً بعد يوم ويشب عن الطوق وتتصلب عظامه وتقوى أعضاؤه ويعي ما حوله، ويدرك أن له ذاتاً ووجوداً، وإن له ما سعى، فيخرج من دائرة الاعتماد على أبويه إلى طريق حياته يشقه بيمناه، ويبني من جهاده صرح مستقبله.
وهكذا تكون حياة الإنسان الأولى بعد مولده، طفولة هي بمثابة الدعامة للمستقبل، فإذا سلمت الدعامة وقويت كانت الزاد لعمر بعيد.. وهذه الطفولة الأولى تسير -كما رأينا- في ركاب خطة طبيعية وضعها الخالق، تحقق للمخلوق الصغير أسس الحماية والوقاية.. وتصيغ له من الشمس والهواء ولبن الأم ما يقيم بنيانه ويشد عودع.. وهي حتى بعد أن يشب الطفل عن الطوق ترعاه وتسري في كيانه بحدودها ونطاقه.
لكن الطفل رغم ذلك ليس كائناً معزولاً، فهو عرضة للتقصير من جانب أبويه أو اهمالهما له.. وقد يكون التقصير رغماً عنهما أو بجهل منهما، فيتعرض الطفل لمرض أو حادثة.. ومرض الطفل أمر وارد بل هو يحدث غالباً، ونادراً ما تجد طفلاً مرت طفولته الأولى بلا أمراض..
إذن فالطفل معرض للمرض وللحوادث.. وهو في الوقت نفسه يولد ويشب في طفولته وفقاً لقوانين طبيعية بسيطة أودعها الخالق سبحانه.. فهل ترانا نعالجه بما تقدمه الطبيعة من عشب ونبت أم نقدم له ما تمتلئ به أرفف الصيدليات من كيمائيات مصنعة تضر أكثر مما تفيد وتنحرف بنمو الطفل الطبيعي عما أعده له الخالق من اعتماد على بساطة الحياة ونقائها.
والكتاب الذي بين يدينا عن علاج أمراض الطفل وحوادث الطفولة بالأعشاب ووسائل الطبيعة البسيطة إنما يعبر عن اتجاه يسير نحوه العالم المتقدم الآن بعد أن أيقن ضرر الأدوية الكيميائية وما تسببه من خطر على صحة الكبار، فما بالك بصحة الأطفال الصغار.
وهذا الكتاب يكتسب أهمية خاصة لأن الطفل كبد أبويه ودرتهما المتوجة بلا مبالغة، وهو فوق ذلك يعالج الطفل بما يألفه جسمه من اعتماد على قوانين الطبيعة وسننها..
