منيحاول سبر أغوار الشرق الوسط يرتكب خطأ فادحا إذا تجاهل التاريخ القديم فالاسباب الداعية الى وجود أشد أنصار إسرائيل تعصبا فى الولايات المتحدة بما فيهم بعض أقرب مستشارى جورج بوش – وهو حلفاء متحمسون لساسة وجنرالات إسرائيل اليمينيين والمتدينين اليوم موجودة فى ذلك التاريخ القديم . فهم ينطلقون من أعماق قصص التوراة والتاريخ والأساطير وخاصة دراما الإسرائيليات القديمة وأباطرة الشرق من الملك حامورابى ملك بابل الى الاسكندر الأكبر الذى فتح العالم ثم توفى فى بابل عام 323 قبل الميلاد كان ذلك بعد قرنين من الزمان الذى عاش فيه الكثير من بنى اسرائيل فى الأسر البابلى ثم عادوا الى فلسطين تحت قيادة النبيين عزرا ونحميا . إن أمجاد وخطايا اشور وبابل واسر يهود إسرائيل القديمة ويهودا هى بمثابة تاريخ حى للباحثين اليهود والمسيحيين الايفانجليكيين والاصوليين والمؤيدين لهم الذى يلعبون دورا مهما فى منظومة الدعم الأيديولوجى والعاطفى فى الولابات المتحدة . وقام بعض مؤيدى إسرائيل وبعض الاسرائيليين المولودين فى العرقا بإدعاء ملكيتهم لممتلكات اليهود العراقيين المهاجرين فى العراق الحديث وهذه الدعاوى تعود الى سنوات حكم صدام حسين وايضا تعود الى حاكم العرقا السابقين حتى قبل انشاء اسرائيل عام 1948 م ودراسة العراق وبابل وبغداد فى التاريخ القديم وخاصة التاريخ اليهودى تساهم فى شرح وفى نفس الوقت تعقيد الصراع على مستقبل العراق .
