يعدّ هذا الكتاب للأستاذ الدكتور فائق محمود الشماع من كتب الدراسات القانونية المقارنة المهمة، حيث يُخصّص جزؤه الأول للإيداع النقدي عبر التوقف عند وديعة النقود من خلال تعريفها وبيان كيفية إنشائها وآثارها، ومن ثم الحديث عن حساب الشيكات عبر تعريفها وتوضيح كيفية فتح حساب لها وبيان أحكامها المتعلقة بالإيداع والسحب من حساب الشيكات. أما الجزء الثاني فيفرد للحديث عن الإيداع غير النقدي ممثلاً بالإيداع في الخزائن المصرفية المؤجرة، عبر بيان مفهومها وتكوينها وخصائص عقدها والطبيعة القانونية لها، ومن ثم الحديث عن آثارها عبر توضيح التزامات المصرف المؤجر للخزانة وكذلك التزامات العميل المستأجر للخزانة المصرفية. وكما تناول هذا الجزء إجازة الخزائن المصرفية، فقد عرض أيضاً لوديعة الأوراق المالية من خلال التطرق لمفهومها عبر شرح التكوين القانوني والماهية القانونية لها، وتقديم استمارات ونماذج عن عقد وديعة الأوراق المالية لدى المصارف، بالإضافة إلى بيان آثارها المتمثلة بتناول كل من التزامات المصرف المودع لديه والتزامات العميل المودع للأوراق المالية.
