قد تكون "سماء عيسى" من بين شعراء عرب قلائل من الذين استطاعوا الحديث عن الحب ببراءة نصية؛ تقترب في تلقائيتها من الجمال غير المدرك لنفسه مثل بريق السماء في ليلة حالكة السواد.
في هذا الديوان قصيدة حب طويلة جاءت في ثمانون صفحة ليرصد الشاعر من خلالها حالة حب خاصة يظهر فيها معنى الخلود، خلود من رحلوا وبقي عطائهم عبرة للأجيال اللاحقة.
والديوان في مضمونه قصيدة رثاء للراحلة ليلى فخر الدين والتي كانت الملهمة والرمز بالنسبة للشاعر في كتابته لهذا العمل. ذلك أن ليلى فخرو، رمز نضالي خليجي معروف ولها تجربة نضالية مختلفة في المناخي، ترسخت لاحقاً في بلدها الأم البحرين، وذلك ختى وفاتها في العام 2006م.
ولأن سماء عيسى هو ابن الحداثة، كان الحب وديمومته هو لوجه الآخر للرثاء الكلاسيكي فذهب بكل ما أوتي من بصيرة ليلملم العميق والأصيل في الشعر العربي ويمنحنا هذا النص الحميم فتقرأ: "الحب/ تحت شجر العليق/ يتناثر/ كورود البيلسان/ المطر أدرك رحيلنا/ أدركتنا أغصان الجلَنار/ وهي تتدلى/ على جدران تتداعى/ في صمت طفوليَ أليم (...)/ ما أعذبك!/ كنبع ماءٍ يترقرق/ في جبل بعيد...".
