"وتقول تعشقني فينبجس الحبق، ويمسّني برق الصفاء. أدنو من البحر الذي لا بحر فيه سوى صدف، وأظنني سمك تماثل للجنون، آليت أستبقُ الرسائل من بعيد، والقلق. وجعي يراودهم. هنيات قصاراً. تشبه الندم الموشّى بالحنين. الله: يا للمعجزةّ وجعي ورق تتلاقف الأخبار نسل بكائه ويعجّ حرباً في فقاعات الصحف... لا قلب يفهم قبلتي... غربة، أقراص خبز ساخن "خالي الوفاض" لبنيّ حين تقاسموا برد البلاد النائية... وتقول تعشقني وأسقط في الذهول... لا ورد يشربه ضيائي، لا ظلمةٌ سردت حكايات الأفول ولا جبل. دوّى ليصرخ: "كم محالٌ ما يجول" وأنا صراخٌ يابسٌ، يعرى تماثل للعدم... ويمسّني برق الغضب. لا صوت يجدي غير أن... أبتاع أقراصاً لمنع الجوع، أو... أن أستعير الثوب فضفاضاً يمترس وحشتي بالاحتمال، فينادم اليوم الخجول تشبثي من كأس عافية نضب... وتقول تعشقني وينتحب الفضاء. الحب في زمن الكوارث هزءة وأنا انتهاء. ويضج صوت في دمي: ترفٌ بأن تهوى وأنت بلا حليب أو رداء!...".
