د محمدالتونجي دكتور في اللغة العربية وكاتب ولد في مدينة حلب عام 1933 وتلقى تعليمه فيها وتخرج من جامعة دمشق حاملا الإجازة في اللغة العربية ودبلوم التربية ونال الدكتوراه في الادب الفارسي من طهران وأخرى من الجامعة اليسوعية وعمل مدرسا ووكيلا لكلية الاداب ونال العديد من الجوائز من مختلف الدول وله مؤلفات كثيرة.وهو يدرس اليوم بجامعة الشهباء الخاصة بحلب مادة أخلاقيات المهنة .

معجم المعربات الفارسية من المعاجم الرائدة والرصينة، خصوصاً وأنه يرجع إلى المنابع الأصلية للمعرب والدخيل الفارسي، قديمها وحديثها.

يمتاز عن معاجم المعربات الفارسية كماً وكيفاً: فمن ناحية الكم فإننا نسجل أن الجواليقي جمع 838 لفظة، وأدى شير 1074 لفظة، بينما جمع الدكتور محمد التونجي أكثر من ثلاثة آلاف لفظة. ومن ناحية الكيف فقد نسق ونظم ودقق وأغنى شرحه بتوضيحات وشواهد ذات فائدة عظيمة.
