يشتمل هذا الكتاب على دراسات متعمقة للحقوق الطبيعية كما ركزت عليها الأنظمة السياسية التي اقترحها توماس هوبس وجون لوك وجان جاك روسو. كذلك يتناول الكتاب بالبحث التأثيرات التاريخية التي أحدثتها الحقوق الطبيعية ومفاعيلها، وجاء ذلك في ثلاثة محاور: المحور الأول يدور حول الإنتقادات المتعددة التي تناولت الحقوق الطبيعية، والمحور الثاني: يتحدث عن البدائل التي اقترحت لتقوم بالمهات الأولية التي قامت بها الحقوق الطبيعية، والمحور الثالث: يدور حول الآثار التي خلفتها الفلسفة التي تمخضت عنها الحقوق الطبيعية في إطار معين وظروف معروفة وعادت فتمخضت تلك الفلسفة بالذات، بعد تطور وتعديل يتطلبه منطق الحياة ...
