إن إنساناً حبه دين وطاعة لله عز وجل... حقيق بأن تهوي إليه أفئدة المؤمنين قاطبة، وجدير بأن تهديه الشعراء والمادحون أجمل حلل الحب، وأعذب قصائد المدح. أليس هو القائل: "لا يؤمن أحدكم حتى أكون أحب إليه من ولده ووالده والناس أجمعين، بل قال لعمر رضي الله عنه: "لا والذي نفسي بيده حتى أكون أحب إليك من نفسك"؟!
هذا كله حدا الشعراء ليمحوه، بل ليدحوا أشعارهم بذكره صلى الله عليه وسلم، وكذلك حثّ أهل العلم ليبينوا قدره وفضله للناس.
إن كثيرين أرادوا أن يتشرفوا بأداء جزء من الواجب تجاه أعظم شخصية في الوجود، وإن من بينهم الأستاذ الفاضل، والخطاط الارع المفن، الدكتور عثمان طه.
فبعد أن خطّت أنامله المباركة المصحف الشريف أكثر من عشر مرات.. أراد أن تسري البركة إليه من صاحب الرسالة السمحة، والخلق العظيم صلى الله عليه وسلم، وأن يعبر بطريقته عن حبه وتقديره له عليه الصلاة والسلام؛ لينتظم في زمرة محبيه صلوات الله وسلامه عليه.
فعقد الأستاذ العزم، وشد الهمة، وانبرى لاختيار أجمل القصائد التي قيلت في مدحه صلى الله عليه وسلم عبر عصور مختلفة وأزمان مديدة، من لدن عصره صلى الله عليه وسلم إلى يوم الناس هذا.
وقد أتحف الأمة الإسلامية بهذا الكتاب العاطر، الذي وسمه بـ"متارت من المدائح النبوية عبر التاريخ"، وهو رسالة أعدها لنيل درجة الدكتوراه.
غير أن الأمر المميز فيها-إضافة لحسن الاختيار، وروعة الانتقاء-أن الأستاذ عثمان طه حرص على أن يكتب كل ما يجمعه من قصائد بخطه الرشيق، مراعياً في ذلك أن يكون الخط مناسباً لهذا الموضوع القيم من حيث الجمال والإتقان والبهاء.
